W.D. Matthews employee Dennis Richardson has teamed up with “Fast Freddie” Rodriguez who founded the Fast Freddie Foundation. Freddie is a four time US Road Race National Champion. This is a great organization whose mission is to ” inspire and provide underprivileged children with the tools to achieve personal successes by utilizing life skills learned through cycling”. With that being said, they also donate hundreds of bikes a year to this great cause. Together, Dennis and Freddie created Dennis and Freddie’s Excellent Adventure which helps the “Bikes for Tots” program created by Fast Freddie which has been able to donate over 3000 bikes and helmets to underprivileged children. Dennis met Freddie through long time friend, Maine native, and classmate Patrick Dempsey who created the Dempsey Challenge for cancer as well as the Dempsey Center in Lewiston Maine.
