Field Service Dispatcher

Location – Auburn, ME

The Field Service Dispatcher organizes, dispatches, and follows up on repair jobs that are carried out at customer locations from the Auburn, Maine facility dispatch office. These repairs are on forklifts and various other equipment that W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. sells and rents. A Field Service Dispatcher is expected to oversee repair jobs that include, but is not limited to, gas, diesel, propane and electric powered material handling equipment as well as aerial lift and manlift equipment.

The primary function of the Field Service Dispatcher is to dispatch jobs to technicians that have the appropriate knowledge and tools to repair and maintain industrial equipment, at the customer’s location. Requires strong customer service relations as this individual directly represents the company when receiving and returning calls. Requires a strong ability to multitask as there will be several mechanics working multiple jobs every day. All the jobs will be diverse in their scope and locations. A strong ability to gain an understanding of various geographical locations within an assigned region is necessary. Attention to detail is also required to expedite, dispatch, and finalize jobs, as well as completing the billing process. Computer skills are necessary to maneuver dispatching software and billing software.

An applicant should have mechanical understanding, computer literacy, and a strong work ethic. Dispatching experience is very desirable, but we also seek candidates with strong abilities to multitask and stay composed under demanding workloads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for assigning and dispatching the maintenance, repair, and inspection of W.D Matthews material handling and manlift equipment.
  • Responsible for administratively facilitating and expediting jobs with their assigned mechanics.
  • Maintains and keeps records, according to company practice regarding all maintenance activities, payroll, and other administrative actions required by company policy.
  • Responds to and resolves customer repair requests and complaints.
  • Maintain open sales orders for billing purposes
  • Assist with all aspects of billing
  • Process pre-bills to work orders
  • Manage open work orders and rental orders for billing purposes
  • Assist the Parts Manager and Service Billing Manager in parts/service integration

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years’ dispatch repair experience or comparable service experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and customers, and to establish effective working relationships and customer relations.
  • Ability to gain thorough knowledge of general maintenance requirements of various pieces of equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Microsoft Word and industry software.
  • Knowledge of billing principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain varied records.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and have organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform complex billing work accurately and rapidly.
  • Ability to work multiple tasks with constant interruptions.

Equipment Mechanic / Road Service Technician

Location – Portsmouth, Shipyard

W.D. Matthews is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team in the Portsmouth, NH area. The Equipment Mechanic/Road Technician is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of gas, diesel, propane and electric powered forklifts as well as aerial lift and man lift equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare equipment records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light, medium, and heavy duty equipment
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of equipment
  • Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on equipment
  • Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 2 years experience performing vehicle/equipment maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
  • Must have valid Drivers License-Class C
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly

Equipment Mechanic/Shop Service Technician

Location – Auburn ME

Shop Service Technician – Job Description

Definition and Nature of the Work
Shop Service Technicians are employed by W. D. Matthews Machinery Co. to repair both WDM owned and customer owned equipment The equipment they are expected to maintain or repair includes, but is not limited to, gas, diesel, propane and electric powered forklift equipment as well as aerial and manlift equipment. Shop Technicians report directly to shop foreman.
The applicant must complete all applicable paper work daily and turn it in to the shop foreman for processing.
The applicant will receive an allowance to rent or lease uniforms that are to be worn while servicing our customers as well as a annual tool allowance.

Requirements:
We prefer to hire High School Graduates with experience in the Material Handling Field. The applicant must have basic mechanical and technical experience on Forklifts, 3 years of experience is preferred.
The primary function of the Shop Service Technician is to repair and maintain industrial equipment, the physical requirements include: lifting and carrying a toolbox weighting approximately 40lbs, bending, climbing and working under equipment. Safe work practices are a must.
